Whether you are starting University or simply need to top up your stationary supplies; have a look at our review of four of the most popular retailers who provide student discounts or offers which will help you save on your purchases!
Ryman
Website: www.ryman.co.uk
Ryman offers student 12.5% discount with the presentation of an NUS extra or graduate card instore or online. The discount can be gained on over 4000 products including stationary items. Alongside general stationary items such as pens, folders etc, Ryman also stocks art supplies and electrical office equipment such as printers and photocopiers. There are often great package deals both online and instore which offer multi-buy purchases at much cheaper prices, great for first year students needing to purchase the essentials on a budget.
Student Feedback:
“I buy most of my Uni. supplies from Ryman and manage to save a great deal in comparison buying from the University shop”. John, Sheffield Hallam University
Amazon
Website: www.amazon.co.uk
Amazon offers students exclusive discounts on many purchases including stationary, DVDs and electricals with the use of an NUS card. Rather than entering the NUS number, the discount code which needs to be entered at the checkout can be redeemed from the NUS website once cardholders log in. Amazon offer students a discount of 5% on all Amazon products but the discount cannot be gained from many external sellers. The code can be entered on any purchase to check whether a discount may be applied.
Amazon offers a wide range of stationary products with a good selection of each product, often at cheaper prices than in stationary stores or at University shops.
Student feedback:
“I bulk buy most of my stationary from Amazon at the beginning of the year and manage to buy most of my essentials from the online store. Really good quality at cheap prices”. Lauren, University of Sheffield student
Staples

Alongside stationary, staples also stocks office items such as desks, chairs and computers which, like some other retailers, are often on offer as multi –buy bundles or as package deals.
Student feedback:
