The Ropewalk is walking distance from Lenton. It is student friendly and a great place to go for a relaxed drink with friends. It has a pool table, a big screen upstairs for special sporting events, and on a Sunday hosts a pub quiz with cash prizes and bar credit awards.

Spanky Van Dykes:

Spanky’s is a quality place for a few drinks before heading out or a great bar to relax in for the whole night. It has an alternative feel with unusual décor. The staff is friendly and there is a huge amount of seating space. There is a club upstairs that hosts a variety of nights and acts such as DJ EZ have made appearances here.

Bodega:

Bodega is a bar/nightclub hosting a variety of nights including Twisted Hearts, Skelter, Itchy Feet and Highness Sound System. Bodega also hosts bands and a variety of DJs. The intimate venue is great for music lovers and many people praise the size and layout of the smoking area.

BZR:

Discounts: ‘Triples for Singles’
BZR is famous with sports teams from both Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University for their deal ‘Triples for Singles’. This is a lively venue that fills up quickly, with cheap entry and very cheap drinks. Most students use it as a club to go to before heading to larger clubs. The atmosphere is lively and raucous, but you will have a fun night.

Bag O Nails:

The Bag of Nails is situated in the heart of Lenton on Lenton Boulevard, extremely close to the students of Nottingham University. Many would refer ‘The Bag’ to their local, where you would head for a few drinks with a group of friends, play pool and watch the sport. The bar also hosts a number of live music evenings. It is very student friendly and there are good drinks prices.

Cape:

Cape is situated in the Lace Market and is a relaxed bar for a casual drink. It offers great student prices and a warm atmosphere. The service is friendly and the layout is simple but efficient.

Baa Bar:

Discounts: Steals Card (£1) will allow you a free shot with every drink
Baa Bar has become one of THE places to be on a night out, especially Tuesday and Thursdays. The ranges of shots on offer are both fun and lethal. It was been refurbished a little since last year, allowing for a larger dance area, and this has meant that for the first time queues have developed outside the bar.

Coco Tang:

Discounts: Monday & Wednesday night student nights (all cocktails under £4)
Coco Tang has developed from a casual underground cocktail bar to a sophisticated nightclub. It is a much more formal and chic night out, but the drinks are brilliant and the bar staff are entertaining.
